Disability History & Awareness Month #everystudenteveryday
“Disability is a matter of perception. If you can do just one thing well, you’re needed by someone.” -Martina Navratilova
We are celebrating ALL types of abilities in October for DHAM. Some of our favorite inclusion books for read aloud:
Hispanic Heritage Month
We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month September 15-October 15. It is month long observation and celebration to recognize the contributions and vital presence of both Hispanic* and Latinx Americans to the United States and to observe their native heritage and contributing culture.
We are completing author/illustrator studies in the first quarter to align with Hispanic Heritage Month. All three of these authors/illustrators are of Mexican Heritage. We will be learning about their life, how they became writers and artists, and be looking closely at their books.
