I love to see students helping each other without prompting. As this sweet K student wanted to checkout and was not sure what to do at the computer, Iric, waiting in line behind her asked if she needed help. She answered yes and he proceeded to show her what to do. He did not do it for her, but began to teach her what to do. This is something I see all the time with our students who are learning to be leaders. There are many definitions for leadership and the one we try to emphasize each day is the role of an EVERYDAY LEADER, someone who displays leadership even when there is no one watching.
